The Editor

Sarah Dann is the Editor and Publisher of Local Magazine. I’ve always believed that those of us in the Beach and surrounding neighbourhoods could enjoy and sustain our own magazine. The Beach has a long history of local news but I’ve always prefered magazine journalism to news and wanted to bring a magazine to the Beach where I could expand on ideas, go into depth, affect change and introduce people to the interesting things going on all around us. Some of what I bring to Local stems from my magazine journalism degree, more of it from years of participation in our neighbourhood. Ten years of marketing, advertising, and publishing experience haven’t hurt and, last but not least, I love to write so Local has brought together the best of all worlds for me.
