OK so we know that the punctuation in the title isn’t perfect but we thought it looked pretty lower case so let’s get that out of the way for all you proofreaders out there – you’d be amazed how many we hear from. For summer, we really wanted to focus on the lake this issue, our lake, Lake Ontario. We’ve done a lot of stories in past summer issues about things happening on and in and around the lake but this time we really wanted to talk about the lake itself. Katie O’Neill did a fabulous job of starting the investigations into this story but as we discovered (and not that we were terribly surprised) there is a LOT of information to gather in writing about Lake Ontario and MANY different perspectives and organizations and initiatives to speak to. We expanded the feature by a page to try to fit more of the information we found in but some of these organizations and initiatives are worthy of their own stories so…like the Lake, this story will have to go on…In any case, we hope you enjoy where we got to. We did.
